This is important because it kept people out of the country even though the country is meant to be a melting pot of people, cultures, and races many people looked down on immigrants and saw them as too much competition. immigration restrictions which I am unable to find mention of in the Omaha Platform document given, this was probably not mentioned because there were restrictions already in place at the time, the first big resections on immigration, because of the Chinese Exclusion Act. Emigration is mentioned in the Omaha platform document under number 4 in the expression of sentiments section however I didn't find the word immigration in the document.
