Descrizione:

The High Seas Fleet left port rumours that it was being sent on a suicide attack. Crews of two cruisers refused to obey orders. The Fleet was forced to return to its base at Kiel. Once it was back in harbour the mutiny spread. On 2 November a mass meeting of 20,000 sailors and workers at Kiel called for the establishment of a German republic and passed a resolution setting up a workers' and sailors council or soviet.
