Hadadezer (Hadarezer) (1 gen 1005 anni a. C. – 1 gen 995 anni a. C.)

Descrizione:

2 Samuel 8:3-12; 10:6-19; 1 Kings 11:23; 1 Chronicles 18:3-19:19

Hadadezer was the son of a man named Rehob and was king of Zobah during the time of David.

During this time, Hadadezer lost the support of Rezon, a prominent Syrian, who fled from Hadadezer to set up his own kingdom of Aram-Damascus.

Hadadezer had often been at war with Tou, king of Hamath, likely over who would reign over the region (Hadadezer is listed as king over Zobah-Hamath, while Toi is just listed as the king of Hamath).

Later on, Hadadezer was hired by Hanun of Ammon to fight David in battle, though he eventually lost and became subject to David.

Hadadezer means "Haddd helps".
