After unstable and risky debting and investing decisions and policies are made in international markets, particularly the USA, one of the worst economic crises in modern history begins. It is made worse by the American decision to raise tariffs, which is replicated in retaliatory methods by other countries around the world, causing a further economic decline. Massive government spending and employment initiatives throughout the 30s and 40s partly motivated by the threat of WW2 are ultimately credited with ending it in most countries affected.
