As the status quo solidifies and European power structures become more complex and enduring, new traditions develop. A new class of knight emerges and with it, a chivalrous tradition in literature and art which is, sometimes, replicated in life. The economy and population of Europe recover and look as if they will only continue to increase.

Simultaneous to this the Norman takeovers of England and Sicily lead to new cultural shifts and changes. Christianisation reaches fever pitch as Scandinavia and Russia begin adopting Christian religion and values and the peak of the crusades occurs.
