The war was an extremely bloody war and it bankrupted the nation, forcing Rostandam to borrow large amounts of money from Ris and other nations. So when Malgam came into power, the loaner nations demanded their money be paid back and threatened war. The new emperor went to war 8 times with numerous different nations, causing even more economic collapse. The Targando-Rostando War was the catalyst that put the Makarian Empire into rapid decline, eventually falling in 1115.
In the last month of the war, Vengasam was surrounded in Níkatekum by Malgam's forces. After 19 days stuck in the city, Vengasam surrendered his forces and retired his title to Malgam. Malgam had Vengasam put on trial for corruption, sedition, and public denial of the true Emperor.
