The Arts & Crafts design movement started because of the reaction towards the bad quality and style of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. The Arts & Crafts movement gave appreciation to all of the craft workers. This was a movement against the commercial system, they believed that the industrialization alienated labour putting the manufacture and designer at a distance. The head of this movement was William Morris. The Arts & Crafts movement didn't have any type of style but was more leaning towards nature and the simplicity of things.
