Natives in pre-columbian times lived with their environment, meaning that different tribes in the new world had different means of collecting food and resources; maize culture was prevalent in the Native tribes, as most had the resources and land available to plant maize and other sister crops to grow their population. Places in the NE were hunter/gatherers along with agriculture, since they lived i an environment which suited both types.
