The Kushan invasion resulted in the Indo-Parthian lands being lost, as they were cut off from their Parthian allies. The court was split over whether to serve the Kushans or maintain independence. As more Selaiki saw the Kushans abandoning their nomadic lifestyle to build a feudal empire, they sided with vassalage until their current Selaiki ruler was overthrown by the pro-Kushan faction. This ultimately led Selga and many Selaiki communities to merge with the Kushan empire
