A settlement by Conquistador Don Pedro de Peralta is made within New Mexico Sante fe. Back then only a small percentage of Europeans existed in this state. This became the capital of the Spanish people later on. It was also the first foreign capital ever taken by the U.S. Juan de onate was the first to establish New Mexico during 1958 within San Juan Pueblo.
