The Chinese Communist Revolution first took place in 1927 when the Chinese 'Red Army' rebelled against the Nationalist government in Wuhan. At this point in time the CCP were relatively small, however they would only continue to expand, becoming an ever increasing threat to the Republics sovereignty. After the end of WW2 Communism was on the rise, and it was the Soviet Unions invasion of Manchuria that not only marked the end of the Second Sino-Japanese war, but provided the CCP with a base of operations from which they would expand and eventually wipe out the Chinese Republic, taking control of mainland China. I believe that this war was necessary, given the corrupt and unstable government that was present within the Chinese Republic. It was after the victory of the CCP that China was once again under stable rule, being given an opportunity to thrive that simply was not present under Nationalist rule.
