A phrase that is repeated 60 times in the book if Ezekiel is "they will know that I am the Lord." This phrase means that God is sovereign over all the earth and works everything to bring his people back to him. God commands Ezekiel to be a watchman this is important because a watchman warns the people if there is danger near. If he fails his task then the sins of the people will be on his head.
