Territorial Expansion of the United States (20 dic 1783 anni – 25 agos 1853 anni)

Descrizione:

US kept growing in size from the War of Independence, passing through the Civil War, the Inidian Wars, The Mexican-American War.

Significant territorial expansion:
- NORTH- from the British after independence: until Canadian border.
- Florida in the South.
- WEST: the continuous frontier being constantly push further west. The Missisipi( unexplored lands- freed slaves, territory grants)
Native American tribes were constantly removed from their lands as the frontier was expanding west: Native Americans experienced a great deal of injustice, not only through massacres and home displacement but also through US one-sized interested land agreements and sketchy moves.
Mexican ceased territories after the Mexican-American War: New Mexico, California and Texas (what is know today as CA, UT, CO, NV, AZ, NM, TX)

In less than 1/2 of a century the US became one of the largest countries in the world.
1900 - Due to industrialisation. US richest and most productive country. but bad working conditions. 20th century brought WORKING CLASS defenders: Roosvelt..
