The Exclusion Parilment (18 gen 1679 anni – 18 magg 1681 anni)
Descrizione:
The Exclusion Parliament was a parliamentary session that took place in England in 1679-1681 during the reign of King Charles II. Its primary goal was to exclude James, the Duke of York, from the line of succession to the throne due to his Catholic faith. The Parliament was called by the Whig party, which was seeking to limit the power of the monarchy and prevent a Catholic monarch from ascending to the throne. The Exclusion Bill, which proposed the exclusion of James from the succession, was the centerpiece of the parliamentary proceedings. However, the bill was ultimately defeated in the House of Lords, and the Exclusion Parliament was dissolved in 1681.
