Attack on Cuzco (1 apr 1536 anni – 6 magg 1536 anni)

Descrizione:

With an army of over 100,000 warriors, Manco Inka attacked Cuzco, which had around 190 Spaniards and 1000 Incas sided with the Spanish. However, the Spanish had firearms and horses.

The Inca army sieged the city and set fire to as many buildings as possible, but the Spanish sheltered in a temple which couldn't burn due to having wells in it.

The Spanish and the Incas were at a stalemate for almost a year, until Pizarro and Almagro returned from an expedition in Chile, and drove Manco out of Cuzco. However, due to fighting between Almagro and Pizarro, Manco managed to escape, but did not have any power over the empire.
