After America won at Okinawa the next fight was Japan, but this was going to cost the USA a lot of money, so the president decided to use an atomic bomb in war for the first time ever. Before dropping the bomb he warned Japan of what was to come, and said that they would drop it unless Japan surrendered, and they refused. And so on August 6th 1945 the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, a large Japanese city killing around 75000 people, and three days later we dropped another one on a different city killing over 70000 people. Japan finally surrendered on september 2nd marking the end of world war 2.
