The Big Ivan, also known as the Tsar Bomb was a hydrogen bob developed by the Soviet Union during the 1950's period of the Cold War. It was pronounced as the most powerful nuclear weapon ever created, and was further tested on October 30th, 1961 in the Arctic region of the county. The bomb had an estimated explosive yield of 50 megatons of TNT, which can roughly be compared to 3,000 times more powerful than the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

The Ivan was designed to be a "doomsday weapon" that could potentially destroy an entire city or region. However, due to the immense destructive power, it was only tested once and was never used in conflict.
