Walt and his family moved to a farm by Marceline, Missouri, and Walt discovered his passion for drawing and storytelling. In 1917 the Disney family moved again to Kansas City, Missouri, where Walt went to high school and took art classes. The family wasn't wealthy, which was why they moved to Missouri because they were searching for a living.
