Nephew was born to Timothy II, perhaps later in life. Mother, Elizabeth (Stevens, not Heywood) dies in Maine, indicating she follows Timothy to ME from NH and there is no scandal.
Conflicting information whether Ebenezer (I) was 20, or 16 at the birth of Ebenezer (II). 20 makes more sense for a few reasons.
About the year 1800, William Fletcher, jr. and Ebenezer Heald went above Caratunk, to hunt, in the month of November. They attempted to cross the Kennebec on a raft which they constructed, but the anchor-ice was running very swift, and the weather was so intensely cold that the raft soon froze in the river, and there remained. They endeavored to build a fire on the raft, and a few blackened sticks and embers were found. It is supposed that they attempted to reach the shore, as their bodies were found in the water below the Falls, the following July. Two dogs that were with them returned, as the ice was firm enough to bear them.
