Zheng He became commander of the Treasure Fleet and sailed to Calicut to buy spices like, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and pepper. They traveled to Champa, Siam, Malacca, and Java, through the Indian Ocean, and to Calicut. On their way back to china, the fleet stopped at ceylon.
