Zoroastrianism (1 gen 550 anni a. C. – 1 gen 330 anni a. C.)

Descrizione:

Zoroastrianism is a religion founded by Zoroaster an Iranian prophet. Zoroastrianism was centered around the idea of moral dualism which later influenced the Abrahamic religions and future philosophy. According to this religion, there are two gods- Ahura Mazda, the wise lord, and Angra Mainyu, the evil spirit. Further dualisms include the debate between right versus wrong and truth versus lies.

Zoroastrianism became the religion of the Persian Empire and remained dominant from 550BCE until 651CE with a brief interruption during the conquests of Alexander the Great. The Persians ruled under the divine rule of Ahura Mazda who sat at the top of the King of Kings. Ultimately in 651CE Zoroastrianism would be taken over by Islam during the expansion of the Islamic Empire.

The symbol seen in the image is common in Persian art and likely depicts Ahura Mazda.
