The Dong Jin Dynasty (1 gen 317 anni – 1 gen 420 anni)
Descrizione:
The three kingdoms were ruled by three opposing kings. They were Sun Quan (182-252) who ruled Dong Wu, Liu Bei (161-223) who ruled Shu Han, and Cao Cao (155-220) who ruled Cao Wei.
The Cao clan initially held power in the Cao Wei state. The Sima clan, which controlled a big amount of land, threatened them after the 230s. In Cao Wei, Sima Yi was a great general. Sima Yi seized control of Luoyang's capital in 238.
Wei launched a three-pronged assault against the Shu Han in 263, which led to a general retreat of the Shu army. Liu Shan gave up his position in 263 and the Jin gained control of Shu Han's lands. The Three Kingdoms Period comes to an end at this point.
The Cao clan still claimed the the throne in Cao Wei. Then in 265, Sima Yan of the Sima clan turned against his own emperor called Cao Huan of Wei and forced him to abdicate. This started the Jin Empire and the Jin Dynasty.
