The Fifth Queue Death was caused by a lack of admin activity causing many of queue's features to become inaccessible. This caused queue players to lose faith in the server's upkeep and stop playing on the server. When Penguin announced that the server would be updating to 1.19.2, it caused a significant enough drop in server popularity that it began the Fifth Queue Death.
During the beginning of the Fifth Queue Death, there were a few events occurring in the community, such as hEXE_82 becoming the first player to reach 500,000 fish, mushrooms becoming public, and a few queue related videos being posted. However, with ercercerc disappearing in October and Boone taking a break for 2 months, there was no admin activity to help support the server. This led queue to spiral into what many consider the most inactive period of queue, as no new players could get access to most of queue's main progression features and existing players not getting any new content with even the weekly shop not being updated for over 2 months. This caused all but a few dedicated players to stop playing queue during this time with many players seeing little to no hope in the future of the server.
The Fifth Queue Death came to an abrupt end when muwugle was given the ability to manage other players' permissions and create and update shops. This allowed players who had been waiting for months to purchase storage barrels, plots, and plot expansions or players who were waiting to gain access to areas like the Fishing Union doors or the Queue Town farms were now able to gain access to them. It also allowed the community to run events as there was someone to help facilitate the permissions necessary for events like PvP tournaments. As a result, it ended the Fifth Queue Death and began the Rebirth Generation.
