Enduring Understanding: World War II prompted the U.S Government to make decisions that were considered “war-time necessities.” These major decisions impacted the economic, social, and political identity of the United States.

During ww1, the US was isolationist, so they weren't to get involved with foreign issues. But after WW2, the US feared the spread of communism would spread to other nations, also known as the domino theory, so they created a policy of containment to contain the spread of communism. So they couldn't become isolated because there as factors that cause the US to get involved because it might hurt them.
