The Chinese Civil War was fought between the Kuomintang of the Chinese Republic, and the Communist Party of China. This war truly began in 1927, but the only part really payed attention to is from 1945 to 1949 because that is when the communist revolution was happening in China. Throughout the war, eventually the Communist Party of China gained control of the mainland of China and took over the country while the Kuomintang fled to the island of Taiwan. Soon, the Communist party changed the country's name to The People's Republic of China.
