The Greek Tyrants (650 BC) (1 gen 650 anni a. C. – 1 gen 510 anni a. C.)

Descrizione:

A tyrant is a ruler who either acquired power unlawfully or inherited it in ancient Greek. Peisistratos was the tyrant who emerged in Athens in the sixth century B.C., as was the case in many other Greek states. After making several failed attempts to capture power, he finally did so in 546 B.C. and reigned until his death in 527, when his two sons Hippias and Hipparchos took over. rich non-aristocrats who had been shut out of authority and aristocrats who seized control. These tyrants overthrew existing oligarchies or aristocracies and replaced them with new ones. These tyrannies occasionally gave way to democracies since their authority rested on raising the socially marginalised.
