Moors Rule Europe (Al-Andalus) (1 gen 711 anni – 1 gen 1492 anni)
Descrizione:
The Moors conquer and take over most of Western Europe overthrowing the Goths and immediately bring to Europe libraries, universities, bath-houses, irrigation, paved roads and street lamps. The Moors brought with them culture, commerce, architecture and enlightenment to Europe.
They were an Islamic people and got along well (initially) with the Christians and even better with the Yahudim/Jews that had lived there since they were brought to the Iberian Peninsula after the House of Yahuda had fallen to the Babylonians in 6th century BC. The Moors respected the Yahudim so much, they gave them the City of Granada. Eventually Granada went by the nickname Granada al-Yahud or City of the Jews.
From the 1300s on, the Yahudim began being pushed out of the Iberian Peninsula into West Africa until the end of the 1400s when both the Moors and Yahudim had been removed and the Gentiles again took over Europe. The time of the Moors had certainly left an impact though with the Gentiles ushering in the Renaissance era after taking in the Moor's culture.
