Schoenberg is an Austrian-American composer and theorist who associated with the expressionist movement. He was an innovator in atonality and developed the twelve-tone technique.
Outside of life, his life was interesting. He served with the German Army at the age of 42 during WWI. Due to his Jewish heritage and beliefs, he was forced to flee Nazi Germany to the USA. His death was likely brought on by a massive anxiety and depressive episode related to his fear of the number 13.
