The Turkish War of Independence was a series of battles where the new Turkish Republic attempted to regain some of its lands taken by foreign powers, IE: Greece.

It was led by Mustafa Kemal Attaturk, named the Father of the Turks, who was basically one of the only competent generals in The Ottoman Empire.

Mustafa Kemal managed to do the impossible and beat back The Triple Entente, establishing The Republic of Turkey and deposing The Ottoman Sultan and Caliph.
