Walt Disney's earlier company had folded under financial pressure but his dream was still alive, tasked with creating a new character for Universal studios Disney and Ubi Iwerks began work on Oswald. On his first presentation to the big wigs at Universal Oswald was shot down, the character was criticised for being to old and to fat, not very appealing. So once again Walt went back to the drawing board and redesigned the The lucky rabbit. on his second life he impressed the bosses and production of Oswald the luck rabbit began. Disney garnered great success through universal studio and was able to expand his animation studio. Invest in some really good businesses (oil) and along with Ubi Iwerks keep creating great animations. He gave Oswald a personality so believable he was entertaining to watch, Again due financial difficulty he left universal and Oswald behind , Oswald was still in production for years.
Departing back to his home town of Kansas he continued to animate along Iwerks in in 1928 we were introduced to Steam boat Willi ( Micky Mouse) and Walt Disneys first animated cartoon with sound. After seeing what could happen with a lovable character Disney was determined to keep the rights to his new charter. He went to film studios to sell his ideas under the Disney name a humble and very broke begging for what could arguably one of the most famous people in history let alone animation. The start of the golden era and colour was just beginning. Thank you Walt for everything.
