The Siege of Yorktown was conducted by General George Washington and General Comte de Rochambeau against the forces of General Charles Cornwallis. This three-week skirmish lasted from the 28th of September, 1781 to the 19th of October that same year.

The siege and surrender of Yorktown is considered to be one of the most important times of the American Revolution. The tactical brilliance of General Washington showed his inspiration and faith given by the Lord. The siege also proved the bravery and spirit of the American leaders and troops and ascertained their cause was worthy. Most importantly, the Siege of Yorktown set the stage for the British surrender on October 19th, 1781.
