The mughal empire had a period of time where there was peace and prosperity in India. Rulers were extremely wealthy and valued trade. India was leading in textile manufacturing and had a big spice trade port.
The mughal empire ultimately failed because of the lack of concentration on industrializing, they also failed to regulate ports and the European countries noticed their weakness. The fight for regional power began and the mughals struggled to hold their power.
