organized by Irish Denis Kearney, called for chinese exclusion from California and U.S.. Influential party members helped draft California COnstitution in the late 1840s which denied the Chinese jobs on public works projects and sated that they couldn't work for govenrment companies. They infllueced national policy and accused the Chinese of taking their jobs
