Peloponnesian war (1 gen 431 anni a. C. – 1 gen 404 anni a. C.)

Descrizione:

A 27 year long battle between the peloponnesian league and the Delian league. It has been divided in several ' phases'. First under the leading of Pericles (Athens) after he broke the 30 year peace treaty between Athens and Sparta. This part lasted until 421 B.C.E after both parties recognized all the loss and created the peace of Nicias. This unfortunately turned into a cold war. There were a lot of small battles, until the Spartans destroyed the last Athenian fleet in 405 B.C.E and thus ended the war.
