Malagan Display and Mask

Descrizione:
- Made on New Ireland by its peoples
- Made of wood, shells, pigment, vegetable fiber
- Masks consisted of many unique designs and hairstyles due to the appearance of the mask being surrendered to its buyer and making it illegal to replicate. Statues consisted of different symbols and took the appearance of island warriors.
- Display and Mask were made to honor and celebrate the ancestor(s) who had died, and the masks were meant to be a representation of the ancestor and them moving on.
