Ibn Battuta (8 feb 1304 anni – 1 gen 1369 anni)

Descrizione:

Ibn Battuta was a Muslim Moroccan scholar and explorer who travelled extensively in Afro-Eurasia, largely in the lands of Dar al-Islam, travelling more than any other explorer in pre-modern history, surpassing both Zheng He and Marco Polo.

In 1325, at the age of 21, Ibn Battuta traveled on a pilgrimage to Mecca, otherwise known as a hajj, and didn't come back to Morroco for 24 years. During that time, he would travel through most of southern Eurasia (Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, China) and most of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal).
