Hitler had long awaited to invade Poland, a nation to which France and Great Britain had planned military support if it were attacked by Germany. On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from causing France and Britain declaring war on Germany, beginning World War II.
Over the next six years, the conflict would destroy more land and property, as well as take more lives than any war previously fought. 40-80 million people were killed, 6 million of the people killed were Jews murdered by Hitler's concentration camps as a bold diabolical sign standing for what Hitler called the "Final Solution" known as the Holocaust. As well as Jews being among the people killed in WW2, an estimated 50-55 million of the people killed were civilians, while an estimated 21-25 million were military deaths.
About a week after Adolf Hitler had committed suicide, One May 1945, the Allies accepted Germany's surrender. The known celebration of VE Day is a celebration that celebrates the victory in Europe and the end of the second World War on the 8th of May on 1945.

World War II was the biggest and deadliest war in history, involving more then 30 countries around the world.
