Primarily located in western Pennsylvania during George Washington's presidency the Whiskey Rebellion took place. Ultimately under command of James McFarlane, an American War veteran. It was a violent tax protest that demonstrated that the national government had the strength and the ability to stop violent resistance to their laws.
