so it's the blood wars and boy does it live up to its name
eliza cavere is still queen and she has heirs to spare, but her oldest heir dies and the throne passes several links to braelyn, who was, at that point, considered the most reasonable choice to lead
i'm sure they eventually regretted that decision, but she was bright and clever in her youth
shenanigans happen, her aunt's husband wants to go to war, her in-laws want to go to war, her husband dies, her sister dies, several of her cousins die, her daughter dies, and she also loses her mind
all the while the war is just absolute murder on the peasants, so they go north instead
during the war, braelyn sells some of her land back to the clans, and they reestablish their council BUT they just do not know how to handle it all, and they decide to finally get the kingdom back up and running by finding an heir to the atkins name
meanwhile, dorson atkinson is absolutely certain that he is that man, but we'll get to that
many new caverians are here, and the highlanders are lowkey pissed bc after everything, they're not very fond of caverians
