The Darfur Genocide began on February 23rd, 2003. This genocide was caused by what started as a downfall in Western Sudan. Janjaweed people (Arab militias) killed all Darfuri ethnic people during the Western Sudan conflict. They also were burning down homes, raping, looting economic resources, polluting water, & torturing people.
