This was the United States directive operation designed to invent and construct the atomic bomb, mostly curated by German Jewish scientists that the US government had taken in after they fled the cruelty of Hitler. Significant figures for this event include J. Robert Oppenheimer, head physicist for the project, and Enrico Fermi, half of the duo who constructed the first nuclear reactor.
