Named for King Edward VII, this period covers Queen Victoria’s death and the starting point of World War I. Despite being short, this period displays classic novelists such as Joseph Conrad, Ford Madox Ford, H.G. Wells, and Henry James. Poetry was represented by Alfred Noyes and William Butler Yeats. Drama was recognized in the works of James Barrie, George Bernard Shaw, and John Galsworthy.
