The chateau clique act of lower Canada was not agreed by many people in lower Canada which created conflict between both groups. The cheque clique was the most powerful group in lower Canada. This group was made only with british man or extremely wealthy French Canadian males. In this act the men idolized the british lifestyle so they tend to support the Roman catholic church to help maintain their power. These men worshiped the british lifestyle and government status so they wanted the French citizens to follow the British lifestyle for a better and approved community but instead this act made french citizens indignant.
