Started with the IEA-bubble (1866), then the Survivors' bubble, and the subsequent suspension of the stock market. Then in 1867 came the brief but devistating Saylesoro War, and most long distance trade was blocked, the government issued rationing. After the war, the economy only healed very slowly, as newly conscripted men were decommissioned almost immediately with often no compensation.
In this chaos a small group of brokers called the Reckless Nine took controll over most of Yelona's financial world.
During the 1870 campaign, it seemd like the pupulists would win, but then through a trick, the Lesoros coopted some of them to collectivise the recless nine's wealth with a very public purge. Throughout the period public outrage got out of control, open fighting in the street became commonplace, until most Yelonese opted for stbility over reform. After the political dangers were contained, and the obidient puppet Éernal as prince, the Lesoros became de facto hegemons over Yelona's politics and economy.
