Kingdom of Judah (1 gen 841 anni a. C. – 1 gen 587 anni a. C.)
Descrizione:
Judah was one of the tribes with local tribal leadership during the time of the warring tribes, and was subjugated along with the other tribes by King Omri, while maintaining a subordinate local leadership.
During the events of King Yehu's rebellion against the previous ruling house in the Kingdom of Israel (the house of Omri), Judah likely seceded from Israel.
It is possible, though not historically confirmed, that the first leader of Judah as an independent kingdom was Queen Atalya, daughter of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel of the Kingdom of Israel, who is described in the Tanakh.
This kingdom was centered on Jerusalem.
The kings of this kingdom are known from the Tel Dan Stele to have been associated with the "House of David."
This corresponds to the Kingdom of Judah in the Tanakh, and to the archaeological era Iron Age II.
The kingdom was destroyed by the Babylonian empire, which Babylonian sources document.
