East 100 acres- Henry Williams, Benjamin Johnson, "Conger & Miller," and maybe others (2 gen 1840 anni – 1 gen 1860 anni)
Descrizione:
The original buyer of the East 100 acres, Henry Williams, apparently was not there for long. There may have been a number of owners of that land during the two decades following the initial land sales in 1840. Benjamin Johnson and “Conger & Miller,” whose first names are not given on the plat map, each owned parts of this property during the 1850’s. However, it is hard to tell how long they were there, what they did on the property, or even who exactly they were. Conger is a well-known name around here, as the Conger family was one of the first in Washington County and many of its members became famous in the early days. Today there is a museum in the city of Washington called the Conger House.
