The ‘Race to the Sea’ comprised of the Battle of the Marne and the Battles of the Frontiers. The ‘Race to the Sea’ ultimately resulted in the outcome of the trench warfare in the Western Front. The Germans were slowed down by the events and were halted at the end of the Battle of the Marne.
