Pope Alexander Vi part of the Borgia family, is most famous for his corruption in the Catholic Church. He often manipulated the Church in order to boost his family fortunes, and many believed that it was his actions that sparked the Reformation. He also led the bulls that resulted in the Treaty of Tordesillas that divided the New World into Spanish and Portugese Spheres.
