Warlord Tokugawa Ieyasu ended the civil war after he was declared Shogun and unified Japan. Tokugawa Ieyasu was maybe the most powerful man to have existed in Medieval Japan. He built the city of Edo, which became the new capital. Tokugawa Ieyasu's most famous achievement was perhaps ensuring his family members took over as Shogun after he died, bringing stability to Japan.

The Tokugawa Shogunate ended in 1868 when the Meiji Restoration (1868E - 1912 CE) took place.
