European Middle Ages (1 gen 500 anni – 1 gen 1500 anni)
Descrizione:
The period of European history extending from about 500 to 1400–1500 ce is traditionally known as the Middle Ages. The term was first used by 15th-century scholars to designate the period between their own time and the fall of the Western Roman Empire. During the High Middle Ages, the population of Europe grew from 35 to 80 million between 1000 and 1347, probably due to improved agricultural techniques and a more mild climate. 90% of the European population remained rural peasants gathered into small communities of manors or villages. The European Middle Ages was very modern.
